Having lived in Asia for many years, I greatly enjoyed the region, its rich culture, and the extensive travel opportunities it offers. However, I just finished up a trip covering Paris, London, Brussels and Barcelona (in addition to Kigali, Rwanda) and being back in Europe after so long reminded me of just how much I enjoy being there as well. I used to spend significant time in Europe while at the NBA, and this recent trip brought back fond memories of those times. In addition to reinforcing old relationships and initiating many new ones, the mussels, meat pies, paella and chocolate fondant will definitely keep me coming back.
This travel is part of growing Two Nomads, the business my wife and I started last year and expanding the 100 Coffee Challenge, which is all about engaging with new and interesting people outside of my existing network. It’s not just about business growth, but also about personal growth. During my travels, I met amazing people and learned about interesting businesses. I witnessed firsthand the power of collaboration and the potential for growth in every corner of the world.
Key learnings that keep repeating as I travel:
– Cultural Insights: Embracing different traditions and viewpoints enhances creativity and fosters a more inclusive business environment.
– Networking: Building relationships across borders opens doors to new opportunities and partnerships that can drive mutual growth.
– Economic Growth: Contributing to the development of local companies not only supports their growth but also strengthens the economic fabric of the regions I visited.
I’m excited to apply these learnings to my business, aiming to create value not just locally but globally. Let’s connect, share ideas, and explore ways to collaborate for a brighter future!
